Lenten services at St James Yuba City
Here is the schedule of Lenten services at St James Yuba City - please join us whenever you can for any or all. We'd be glad to see you and join with you in your celebration of this most significant time of the church year.
Wednesday, March 5 - Ash Wednesday service at 5pm with Imposition of Ashes – The beginning of Lent
WEEKLY DURING LENT
Friday, March 7 – Stations of the Cross at 5pm. This is a short devotional exercise of visiting and honoring each of the events in the Passion of Christ. It stems from the practice of early Christian pilgrims who visited the scenes of the events in Jerusalem and walked the traditional route from Pilate’s house to Calvary and then finally to the empty tomb.
Sunday, March 9 – Morning Prayer at 10am
Wednesday, March 12 - Lenten study and discussion at noon, with soup and salad lunch
Friday, March 14 - Stations of the Cross at 5pm
Sunday, March 16 – Holy Eucharist at 10am
Wednesday, March 19 - Lenten study and discussion at noon, with soup and salad lunch
Friday, March 21 - Stations of the Cross at 5pm
Sunday, March 23 - Holy Eucharist at 10am

HOLY WEEK
Sunday April 13 - Palm Sunday service at 10am with Eucharist - commemorating Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem and the beginning of Holy Week
Wednesday April 16 - Holy Wednesday - No Lenten Study or services
Thursday April 17 - Maundy Thursday (Holy Thursday) service at 5pm - Foot-washing and Eucharist, with an Agape meal afterwards
Friday April 18 - Good Friday Service at 12 noon commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus and his death - no Eucharist
Sunday April 20 - Easter Eucharistic Service at 10am.
